Current Tenants, Commercial & Residential

If you are a tenant of a property managed by Cherokee, commercial or residential, this page has information for you.

Prompt. Polite. Reliable. These three words make a world of difference when you need attention. Cherokee is committed to being a responsive and responsible landlord, and a good corporate citizen in the communities where we own properties.

Our service staff is trained at repairs and maintenance, and excellent customer service, to handle any concern in a timely manner. For urgent issues, we offer 24/7 service. We know that great landlord responsiveness is one of the reasons you chose to occupy a Cherokee property, and we welcome any opportunity to prove you were right!

Every Cherokee property has a designated Property Manager, and tenants were provided with that persons contact information, including cell phones for emergency purposes. We do not publish that information. The information on this web site is more generic in nature.

Information regarding the payment of your rent is on our Paying Your Rent web page.

Contact information is on the Contact Cherokee web page.

If you want to communicate with us anonymously, please use the form on the Contact Cherokee web page. You do not have to give us your name or contact information in order to send us an email.

Tenant Business Affairs:

Please direct any communication to the individual Property Manager responsible for your property. They are familiar with your circumstances, and can be most responsive and helpful. All Property Managers report to Charlotte Cohen. If you are unable to satisfactorily resolve an issue with your Property Manager, please contact Ms. Cohen at (732) 741-2000, extension 13.

Tenant Emergencies:

If there is an immediate safety issue, such as a fire, break-in, or anything that might endanger the immediate safety of anyone, call 911 immediately. Only after arranging for emergency response by police, fire or ambulance should you contact Cherokee.

If you are an existing tenant in a property managed by The Cherokee Group (commercial or residential), and there is an emergency issue that can not wait until the following day, please call the cell phone number that was provided to you. This procedure is only for emergencies that can not wait. There is a charge for frivolous emergency calls, as outlined in your lease.

Safety Information for tenants of Cherokee properties, and residential dwellers generally, is available at Safety Info for All Housing Dwellers
